Rocketeer is a performance cruising catamaran with a unique layout among large cats. Rocketeer has won the Heinekin Regatta cruising cat class more than once and she will take you from island to island with speed and élan. Yet she is solid as a rock, demonstrated by the thousands of sea miles that have passed under her transoms. Her unique forward cockpit with helm station combined with a roomy pilot house and expansive rear deck creates three distinct open environments onboard. No need to steer from behind the bulkhead like most cats. Sailors delight in actually sailing Rocketeer from under the sun-protective bimini top in the forward cockpit where all control lines are close by, there’s a full view of the sea ahead and a feel for the breeze. Or let the captain take control and just relax in the cozy pilot house viewing the islands through oversized all-around windows. Complete the day watching for the “green flash” as the sun sets, then dine al-fresco with candle light on the aft deck under the stars. On Rocketeer the choice is yours.
Your captain will be David Marchant, world cruiser and longtime resident of St Maarten. David puts it all together; he is a warm, patient and friendly host, an expert sailor, and best of all, with his intimate local knowledge of St Maarten and the surrounding islands he knows all of the best special places for you to visit during your cruise. A chef/stewardess is available upon request for an additional fee.
Rocketeer is conveniently located walking distance from Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten, part of the Netherland Antilles. St Maarten has an extensive provisioning and chandlery network in close proximity to Rocketeer’s base. Sleep aboard Rocketeer the night before your charter or rent a bungalow next to the dock from hosts David & Maya Marchant on a space available basis. Airfares to SXM are some of the lowest in the Caribbean.
Rocketeer’s bareboat with captain rate is $9,250 per week with a 10% surcharge for Christmas and New Years weeks. “Bareboat” means that the charterer is responsible for all consumables such as food, fuel & water, and government fees. A complimentary “sleep-aboard” the night before the charter is offered with a minimum one week booking. One way charters commencing or terminating at other islands can be arranged for an additional delivery fee.
